Meet the Coaches

Head Coach, Brice Menaugh

No cap, no goggles, and a fear of Speedos; that’s how Brice Menaugh started on his summer swim team where his coach was always yelling from the deck “toes out!” during his breast stoke.  These days he is the one yelling from the deck to get the toes out or signaling for a tighter streamline.  Coach Menaugh started teaching “level ones” how to swim for the City of Glendale Parks and Rec during his college summers and eventually worked his way up the lifeguard ladder to coaching summer teams, managing pools and life guards, and even getting a minor in Exercise Sports Science (athletic coaching) to go along with the Teaching degree all from the good ‘ol U of A. He’s been teaching and coaching at Amphitheater High School for 12 years where he is currently the head coach of the Amphi Swim team.  This is his first year coaching for the CT Marlins and is genuinely honored and excited to be able to serve such a wonderful community of swimmers and families.

Assistant Coach Alex Ricker:

Alex started swimming when he was four years old and hasn’t been able to get away from the water since.  He competed year-round at Ventana Canyon for over 14 years, and was a state qualifier and captain for Catalina Foothills High School.  In addition to coaching, Alex was a lifeguard and water safety instructor for the City of Tucson for six years.  This is his fourth summer coaching at Catalina Terrace, and he is excited to see what is in store for this season.  Go Marlins!
